2024 was a year full of challenges for the IT security landscape. Increasing professionalization of cybercrime, regulatory uncertainties due to the NIS2 directive and rapid technological progress in the field of artificial intelligence posed major challenges for companies worldwide. synaforce, as a leading provider of modern cybersecurity and data center solutions, has successfully mastered these challenges and positioned itself as a reliable partner to accompany companies securely into the digital future.
Threat situation in 2024: a year of extreme cases
As the status report by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) shows, around 309,000 new malware variants were identified every day in 2024 - an alarming increase of 26% compared to the previous year. Cloud systems, critical infrastructures (KRITIS) and mobile devices were particularly targeted by cyberattacks. In addition to traditional attacks, technological innovations such as generative AI made the security situation considerably more difficult. AI-supported attacks generate deceptively real phishing emails or automate the programming of malware, making defense more complex.
synaforce: Security through innovation and partnership
To counter these risks, synaforce took decisive steps in 2024:
- C5 certification: In March, synaforce received the prestigious C5 certification from the BSI, which confirms the highest security standards - particularly relevant for KRITIS customers.
- Strategic partnerships: Together with TEHTRIS, the AI-supported TEHTRIS XDR AI PLATFORM was presented. This enables comprehensive, centralized security measures for networks, endpoints and cloud services.
- Preparing for NIS2: synaforce has expanded its certification base - including ISO/IEC 27001 and ISAE 3402 - to proactively support companies in complying with the new EU security standards.
“The challenges in the IT security landscape are great, but we are proud of what we have achieved in 2024,” emphasizes Tobias Lehner, CTO of synaforce. “2025 will be another year of progress in which we will further intensify our commitment.”
Looking ahead: what 2025 will bring
The coming year will once again present the IT security world with major challenges. Deepfake technologies and advanced persistent threats (APTs) are increasingly coming to the fore. Companies in the financial and CRITIS sectors in particular must be prepared for new, targeted attacks.
The regulatory landscape also remains unclear. Although the deadline for implementing the NIS2 directive has already passed, the legislative process in Germany continues to be delayed. synaforce therefore advises companies not to wait for clarity, but to take proactive measures now to strengthen their security strategy.
“Threats are not diminishing, but with the right preparation, companies can become more resilient,” says Andreas Braidt, CEO of synaforce. “We are ready to support our customers with comprehensive advice and innovative solutions.”
Resilience is the key
The dynamic nature of the cyber threat landscape shows: IT security is not a one-off goal, but a continuous process. synaforce will continue to focus on innovation, collaboration and prevention in 2025, not only to arm customers against current threats, but also to create the basis for sustainable security strategies.
At synaforce, we all strive for innovation and are always looking for the best solution to promote sustainability and deliver real added value. Find your path at synaforce and work where innovations of the future are created through cooperation!
