In view of the increasing importance of cyber resilience, it is essential for companies to comply with the highest security standards. By receiving the prestigious C5 certification from the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), synaforce has achieved a significant success for its IaaS service model. This certification, valid since March 1, 2024, shows that synaforce's cloud services meet the latest technical security requirements.

What does the C5 certification mean?

The C5 certification specifies and supplements the requirements of ISO/IEC 27001. This certification is particularly relevant for IT service providers and system houses that support customers in the critical infrastructure (KRITIS) sector. It ensures that the cloud services offered are not only secure, but also reliable.

synaforce, based in Hofkirchen near Passau, operates state-of-the-art data centers in Germany that now officially meet the strict security requirements of the BSI thanks to C5 certification. An independent auditor carried out the certification and confirmed that synaforce's measures are suitable and implemented in all key areas.

Prepared for the NIS-2 directive

From October 2024, the European Union's NIS 2 Directive, which sets an EU-wide minimum standard for cyber security, will come into effect. This directive will affect around 30,000 companies in Germany, which will then have to meet higher requirements for their information security measures.

Companies that have already implemented an information security management system (ISMS) in accordance with ISO 27001 are well prepared. synaforce already meets many of these requirements thanks to its many years of certification in accordance with ISO 27001, ISAE 3402 and EN 50600. The new C5 certification further strengthens this basis and confirms the company's robust security foundation.

A strong partner for your security requirements

Recent developments in EU legislation, including the NIS 2 Directive and the DORA and CRA regulations, increase the requirements for companies to improve their cyber resilience. From the end of 2024, affected companies must ensure that both their own security measures and those of their suppliers are adequate.

synaforce, as an IT service provider with C5 certification and compliance with the ISO/IEC 27001:2022 standard, is a leading partner in this regard. Andreas Braidt, CEO of synaforce, emphasizes the importance of these certifications: “We not only offer the highest security standards, but also actively support our customers in efficiently implementing the new regulatory requirements. This makes synaforce a reliable partner in an environment where security and compliance are becoming increasingly important.”

The BSI-C5 certification was audited according to the strict IDW quality security standards and confirms that synaforce's cloud services meet the highest security requirements.
