Matthias Wüst is a service manager, consultant, administrator, and team leader at synaforce—all at ZDF. As a service provider for ZDF, he manages the entire server infrastructure, from Windows to Unix systems, and ensures that everything runs smoothly. A large part of his work takes place in the virtualized environment, with VMware, Proxmox, and Hyper-V.
“My typical day at synaforce is incredibly versatile. I coordinate activities for synaforce as a service provider at ZDF, but I also work as an administrator in all areas. It's exciting because you're constantly working in different areas and have to find solutions to complex challenges.”
Teamwork and problem solving
What Matthias particularly appreciates is the close cooperation within the team and with his ZDF colleagues. “I enjoy working in a team and collaborating with customers the most,” says Matthias. “Analytical work, problem solving, and positive feedback motivate me to do my best every day.”
However, what he enjoys most is passing on his knowledge and experience to his team. “By sharing my knowledge, we as a team can achieve positive results the fastest. It's incredibly satisfying to see the team grow and the results get better and better.”
Switching off with passion
In addition to his intensive work, Matthias also remains active in his free time. As a passionate hunter and hobby craftsman, he has a wood and metal workshop where he works on small projects and maintains his motorcycles—even though he unfortunately rides them far too rarely. When time allows, he is drawn to the Alps for hiking and mountaineering. “Unfortunately, there's often not enough time for my hobbies after work, but when I have the opportunity, I love being outdoors in nature.”
Why Matthias appreciates synaforce
When Matthias talks about synaforce, it quickly becomes clear what he particularly likes about his employer: "Above all, I appreciate my job, the great conditions, the team, and the collaboration. It's just fun to work here because I'm always surrounded by people who are just as motivated and committed as I am."
But it's not just the team that Matthias loves about synaforce. “What I also like is the flexibility we are offered here. There is always the opportunity to develop further, and the company gives you the space to take on responsibility and shape things.”
