In June 2026, synaforce Schweiz AG invited customers, partners, and experts to its Customer and Partner Event in Switzerland. The event took place on the top floor of the Sonnenberg Restaurant in Zurich, offering views of the city, Lake Zurich, and the Alps on the horizon. On a summer day with temperatures exceeding 30 degrees, people from across the IT industry gathered to discuss the cloud, cybersecurity, automation, and artificial intelligence.
Reception and Personal Interaction
The day began on the sun terrace of the Sonnenberg Restaurant. Over a cool refreshment and with goodie bags in hand, the first conversations took place among customers, partners, and speakers.
Even during the reception, the conversation centered on the day’s major topics. As their gaze swept over Zurich, guests discussed secure cloud solutions, current security issues, and the practical application of AI in everyday work.
The focus was on personal dialogue. Existing relationships were strengthened, new connections were made, and initial ideas for joint projects were discussed.

The Presentations in the FIFA Auditorium
Following the reception, the event moved to the FIFA Auditorium. Andreas Braidt, Managing Director and CEO of synaforce GmbH, opened the program with insights into the group’s development, current projects, and strategic direction for the coming years. Tobias Lehner, Managing Director and CTO, outlined the technological future of the platforms and provided insights into the data center in Hofkirchen, which—with a PUE of less than 1.1 and powered by 100 percent renewable energy—ranks among Bavaria’s most energy-efficient data centers.
A key topic was the further development of awesome.cloud. Stephan Ging, CEO of synaforce Schweiz AG, presented the planned migration of the platform to OpenStack. For MSPs, IT service providers, and enterprises, this step means greater flexibility, new features, and additional opportunities for automation. The transition away from VMware also creates a long-term foundation for stable and predictable costs, while the platform remains a sovereign Swiss cloud offering high security and full control over users’ own data.
Roberto Cassibba then provided a practical overview of IT security. Drawing on his experience as a penetration tester, he explained how attackers operate and why people play a crucial role in security. A security assessment helps companies identify risks early on, evaluate existing protective measures, and strengthen their security culture.
Practical Experience, AI, and a Long Evening
The joint presentation by Götz, Rufer, and Luota was particularly impressive. Matthias Sallenbach described the challenges faced by a modern trust company, and Patrick Bernhard demonstrated how these were solved using M-Files as the central platform and its integration with awesome.cloud. In a live demonstration, Beat Dietrich showed how AI-powered processes automatically recognize, classify, and evaluate documents, thereby significantly reducing administrative workload.
To conclude, Prof. Dr. Thilo Stadelmann captivated the audience with a keynote speech on artificial intelligence. He clearly explained the fundamentals of modern language models, their strengths, and the causes of typical errors. His focus was on systems that enhance human capabilities. The greatest benefit arises when humans and machines combine their respective strengths.
After the presentations, the event moved back to the terrace. Discussions and networking continued over drinks, a varied BBQ buffet, and a view of Zurich. Many guests stayed until late in the evening—a clear sign that the day was a complete success, both professionally and socially. We would like to thank all participants and look forward to the next customer and partner event in Switzerland.
