Long-standing customers who would like to attend more events: We are particularly pleased to receive this feedback following our customer and partner event in Berlin. On September 17, 2026, a total of 37 guests gathered at Firespace, including 24 representatives from our customers and partners. The focus was on the people behind synaforce, current IT topics, and how we can further develop our collaboration.
The event was organized to mark the completion of the integration of Herbst Datentechnik GmbH into synaforce GmbH. The afternoon provided an opportunity to get to know the combined company in person and to engage in conversation with one another. The program covered the development of synaforce, proactive network security, and the secure use of AI in hospitals. Equally important was the time set aside for connecting with one another outside the context of day-to-day business.
Familiar Points of Contact, an Expanded Offering
Following the acquisition in February 2025, we announced the completion of the integration of Herbst Datentechnik GmbH in June 2026. The Berlin team continues to operate entirely under the synaforce umbrella. Its long-standing expertise in hosting and cloud services is now combined with the IT security and infrastructure services of the combined company.
For our existing customers, this means continuity and additional opportunities: their familiar points of contact remain the same, and existing contracts and service levels continue to apply. In addition to the existing hosting and cloud services, synaforce’s cybersecurity solutions and data center infrastructure are now available.
Especially after a merger like this, people need not only information but also face-to-face interactions. Who is behind the expanded offerings? What issues is the company addressing? And who can you talk to about your specific needs? We wanted to create a space in Berlin to address these questions.
Get to Know synaforce—Through Direct Conversation
Andreas Braidt, CEO of synaforce, and Tobias Lehner, CTO, presented the company and its development. They discussed synaforce’s history, the values behind our work, and our vision for the future. This allowed guests to get to know the company’s leadership and their perspective on our shared future.
Ralph Jackisch served as the moderator for the program. The intimate setting was a deliberate choice: In day-to-day project work, conversations often focus on a specific task. A customer event offers the opportunity to go beyond that and get to know the people behind their respective roles better.
The presentation turned into a discussion
How can anomalies in a network be detected before they lead to disruptions? Marco Wolfrum and Alexander Haida addressed this question in their presentation on proactive network security. The focus was on network analysis methods and the question of how networks can be secured proactively, rather than reacting only after a disruption occurs.
The topic sparked a lively exchange with the audience. Guests asked questions and offered comments, and the presentation evolved into a conversation. For us, this was a particularly valuable part of the afternoon: technical expertise was not only presented but also discussed collaboratively.
Such questions help put technical topics into context. For some, it’s about gaining a better understanding of an approach; for others, it’s about assessing its relevance to their own IT. A format that allows time for this can achieve more than a mere presentation. The positive response to the presentation has reinforced our belief in this approach.
AI in Hospitals: Leveraging Opportunities, Protecting Sensitive Data
René Herzer from basebox GmbH raised another timely question: How can hospitals use powerful AI models without sensitive patient data leaving the hospital?
The presentation thus focused on the interplay between technological benefits and data protection. In the healthcare sector in particular, it is not enough to look solely at the capabilities of an AI model. Equally important are the conditions under which it is used and the responsible handling of the processed information.
For us, these perspectives go hand in hand: New applications should not be considered in isolation from the infrastructure and security requirements. The program thus spanned a range of topics, from securing existing networks to the prerequisites for new applications of AI. Both topics provided starting points for further discussion.
An Old Fire Station as a Venue for New Encounters
Firespace in Berlin-Mitte provided a special setting for the event. The former fire station on the grounds of the former Edison Works was very well received by the guests. In addition to the hall, the outdoor area was also available for conversations.
During the get-together that followed, there was time to nurture connections and continue conversations. The buffet complemented an afternoon that balanced professional insights with personal exchanges. The location thus served not only as a backdrop but also, quite practically, provided space for smaller discussion groups.
It was important to us not to view these encounters merely as a conclusion to the program. People who work together also need opportunities to get to know one another outside the context of a specific project. That was precisely the purpose of the meeting.
A clear signal: The exchange should continue
We were particularly pleased by the feedback from long-standing clients who asked for regular events of this kind. We take this request as an incentive. It shows us that, in addition to the technical topics, the opportunity for personal interaction is also valued.
