A pole position in Barcelona, a podium finish at the Red Bull Ring, and a premature end to the season finale at Monza: Proton Competition Bavaria has wrapped up the 2026 season in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup. As the title sponsor, we at synaforce are looking back on the season’s results and the moments that defined our partnership this year. In the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany, the title race is still to be decided.
Monza: The race was over after just one timed lap
Several accidents during the opening stages damaged the track barriers and led to the premature cancellation of the season finale. After just one scored lap, the results were in: Keagan Masters finished 18th, and Kai Pfister finished 24th. Following a difficult qualifying session, the early end of the race left Masters with no opportunity to work his way up the field.
Guest driver Andrea Galli was involved in one of the crashes. He emerged from the crash unharmed.
The Supercup Season Recap
Keagan Masters achieved his strongest results in Barcelona and at the Red Bull Ring. In Spain, he secured pole position. In Spielberg, starting from eighth on the grid, he finished third, securing the team’s first podium finish of this Supercup season.
Kai Pfister also continued to improve as the season progressed. The Würzburg native was involved in several thrilling battles for position, including duels with Jacques Villeneuve, the 1997 Formula 1 World Champion.
In the final drivers’ standings, Masters finished in twelfth place. Proton Competition ended the season in seventh place in the team standings. These results are just as much a part of the season’s record as the sporting highlights. Team principal Christian Ried describes a season in which the new car required a lot of work from the very beginning and the tightly contested field left little room for error. Speaking about his team’s efforts, he says:
“The team always gave it their all and did a good job.”
How We Structure Our Partnership with synaforce
Our collaboration with Proton Competition Bavaria encompasses the Supercup and the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany. This season’s race weekends also provided opportunities for personal interaction with guests and partners.
One example is our Healthcare Workshop at the Norisring. Together with Alexander Weber, guests, partners, and experts discussed digitalization in healthcare and the role of our data centers. They were able to share experiences from their respective day-to-day work and gain insight into different perspectives on the industry’s requirements.
For us, this exchange is an important part of our sponsorship. Through face-to-face conversations, we can determine what kind of support companies and organizations need and what issues they face when operating their digital infrastructure.
This is where our work at synaforce comes in. With our certified data centers, cloud solutions, and managed services, we support companies in operating their IT systems. Our focus is on system availability, data protection, and efficient energy use.
In the healthcare sector in particular, this requires clear lines of responsibility and documented processes. Our approach to robust IT for hospitals combines these requirements with reliable, transparent operations. Discussing such topics directly with partners is what makes the meetings during our roadshow so valuable to us.
It’s all about the titles in Hockenheim
From October 9 to 11, 2026, Proton Competition Bavaria will compete in the final round of the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Germany at the Hockenheimring. Keagan Masters arrives as the leader in the drivers’ standings with a seven-point lead. Proton Competition also leads the team standings. This gives the team the chance to win both championships.
The team has earned this position over the course of the previous seven race weekends. Most recently, Robert de Haan won Saturday’s race at the Nürburgring. Masters secured his lead in the standings with a fourth-place finish on Sunday.
We’d like to thank Christian Ried, Michael Dirsch, and the entire team for their collaboration and dedication this season. At Hockenheim, we’re keeping our fingers crossed for Keagan Masters and the team as they vie for the titles in both championships.
