Thomas has been a familiar face in the company for over 25 years - first at ITecon GmbH, now at synaforce - with a remarkable story that tells of commitment, team spirit and genuine flexibility. Starting in 1999, he took on responsibility as head of the service desk at an early stage. But as life goes, new priorities came along at some point: family.
„It was clear to us: my wife wanted to pursue her career - so I cut back professionally. A conscious decision that I have never regretted."
Thomas Thomas switched to part-time work to support his family - and experienced a whole new side of life in the process: more time for his children, sport and what matters outside of work. He has been back full-time since July 2024 - and in his old role again since April 2025: Head of Service Desk.
A typical day at synaforce GmbH - full of dynamism
“No two days are the same,” he says and laughs. "I coordinate the team, deal with escalations, plan support for new requirements - but also the little things that make everyday life run smoothly. The Service Desk is often the first point of contact and we make sure everything runs smoothly."
What is he particularly good at? "I think in a structured way, stay calm - and enjoy solving problems pragmatically. Especially in a team. The interaction with my colleagues is the most important factor for me."
Full commitment - even away from the service desk
NacAfter work, they often go cycling - or to the gym. "My daughter does triathlon, my son plays volleyball - currently in the 2nd Bundesliga. I support, ride along, cheer him on. It's my balance and I love spending time with my family."
A feeling of home
"When I tell friends about synaforce, I say: this is a place where you can develop - but also a place where you are understood. When I went part-time, there was never any pressure. Now that I'm back full-time, I have the feeling that I'm needed - and I'm fully back."
In addition to the great team, he particularly likes the trust he has felt over the years. “And also the openness to new life models - that's not a given.”
